Your chance to avoid annoying security measures in the airport

Industry News

TSA Pre is an expedited screening initiative that could allow you to keep your shoes, belts and jackets on and leave your liquid products and laptops in your bag.

TSA is partnering with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) as well as U.S. air carriers as part of this pre-flight screening initiative. Certain frequent flyers from Delta Air Lines, American Airlines and certain members of CBP’s Trusted Traveler programs, including Global Entry, SENTRI, and NEXUS who are U.S. citizens are eligible to participate.

Once the prescreened passengers arrive at the airport security checkpoint they are identified by a barcode on their boarding pass and directed to special line for fast passage through security.

There is no guarantee that you will be able to avoid these security measures, they will still incorporate random screening as they see fit. But for the chance to be eligible for this convenient way of travel you can apply here http://www.globalentry.gov.

This is currently available to a few select airports, but throughout 2012 it will be expanded to several others.

For those of you that travel on a regular basis this is great news!
