Company Description: Experience and Mission
Neurowin was founded in 1991 by my father, Dr. Jorge Luiz Winckler, a neurologist and neurophysiologist. I am inspired by his accomplishments, which translated into relief of suffering and the instillation of hope through patient care, achieving outstanding clinical outcomes. I continue his tradition of humanized medical care while progressively expanding diagnostic and therapeutic resources.
Today, Neurowin offers services with hospital-level complexity, integrating advanced technology with individualized attention to deliver precise and effective neurological care.
Patient Care Flow and Therapeutic Approach
Our workflow model prioritizes accurate diagnoses and effective treatments, aiming to alleviate symptoms and, when possible, reverse pathological processes in the shortest possible time.
Each consultation begins with a detailed clinical history and a complete physical examination, followed by complementary diagnostic evaluations, including:
Neurophysiological Exams
- Evoked potentials (retina, optic nerve, auditory, brainstem, attention span, sensory and motor tract evaluation)
- Electroencephalogram (EEG)
- Electroneuromyography for analysis of electrical functions of the central and peripheral nervous systems
Ultrasound and Doppler Studies
- Transcranial arterial Doppler
- Arterial and venous Doppler of the neck and limbs
These studies allow evaluation of cerebral metabolism, vasoreactivity, pulsation, flow, and vascular structure, supporting the management of vascular risks and pathologies related to fluid dynamics. This approach provides readiness for the evaluation of serious conditions such as stroke and thrombotic disorders.
Personalized Treatment and Advanced Interventions
Based on these diagnostic exams and delivered in a personalized manner, highly effective and tailored therapeutic approaches are indicated—frequently avoiding surgeries, hospitalizations, or unnecessary emergency room visits.
Patients receive individualized guidance on:
- Physical exercise
- Physiotherapy
- Diet
- Lifestyle modifications
For more symptomatic cases, Neurowin offers ultrasound-guided infiltrations with anesthetics, corticosteroids, or hyaluronic acid. These are effective in conditions such as carpal tunnel syndrome, lower back pain, osteoarthritis, and other neuromuscular injuries—often postponing or eliminating the need for surgical intervention.
When well diagnosed and managed, vascular diseases, neurobehavioral disorders, epilepsy, headaches, and chronic pain can have their impact significantly reduced, avoiding repeated hospitalizations and excessive imaging exams.
Care for Complex and Disabling Conditions
Neurowin also provides care for patients with disabling psychiatric comorbidities, post-stroke deficits, and chronic pain.
Many neurological cases involve post-stroke sequelae, pain syndromes, and psychiatric complaints, adding complexity to the clinical picture. Given the limitations of pharmacological and psychotherapeutic treatments alone, Neurowin offers an innovative solution:
Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS)
Approved in Brazil, the United States, and the European Union, TMS is applied in 10 to 30 sessions and is indicated for:
- Neuropathic chronic pain
- Treatment-resistant depression
- Obsessive-compulsive disorder
- Stroke rehabilitation
- Migraine
- Other serious neurological conditions
International Patient Experience
Neurowin receives approximately 20 international patients per year, primarily individuals who have relocated from other countries to live in Florianópolis.

Looking Ahead: The Future of Medical Travel
Medical travel represents a great opportunity for patients who cannot find relief within their local healthcare systems. It allows access to second opinions, treatment by choice rather than limitation, and exposure to different cultures. Patients also benefit from receiving care in safe, attractive touristic destinations, combining health, quality of life, and recovery.
What Makes Neurowin Unique
Beyond a cordial and warm welcome, I listen carefully to every complaint and perform an extremely thorough physical examination, using appropriate neurological assessment tools.
All ultrasound and neurophysiology assessments are performed by me personally. During the first visit, the cause of symptoms is identified, the anatomical location of the problem is defined, and treatment can be accurately initiated. This leads to higher response rates and highly effective outcomes.
Patients are closely followed for treatment adjustments, with high success rates in resolving disabling complaints and achieving long-lasting results.

Neurowin offers diagnosis and management of neurological disorders through an integrated approach to general health. Care plans address all clinical conditions affecting the patient and focus on achievable lifestyle changes, reducing disease progression not only through medication but also through daily habits and behavioral modifications.
